Sharon Jessy
From a small town to the world stage. Growing up in Ipoh, Sharon had no way to compete on a global platform against the best of the best. That chance only came when she moved to Kuala Lumpur for university.
During her four years as a law student at Universiti Malaya, she competed in debating, moot court, Model United Nations, public speaking and knowledge olympiads, representing UM and Malaysia in more than 16 countries. In 2016, she was crowned Champion of the Australasian Debate Championship (ESL) in Perth. She is also a National Moot Court Champion, and represented Malaysia in Washington, D.C. and at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
Those experiences shaped everything that followed: a 10-year career as a litigator at one of Malaysia’s leading firms, the Chevening Scholarship to pursue her Master’s at King’s College London, and her role today as Competition Lead at the English-Speaking Union in London, running international oracy and critical-thinking competitions.
Today, she is an international adjudicator, regularly invited to judge debate, moot court and public speaking competitions.
MSDA brings global opportunities to your quaint city. Sharon wants to partner with parents of ambitious students to chart their pathway to success.
“Where I grew up, competing against the best in the world wasn’t possible. Today, MSDA brings that stage to your home. Every child, wherever they start, deserves the chance to find their voice.”

The MSDA Compass
Four directions every MSDA student grows in, measured quarter on quarter.
Think Sharper
Critical thinking that shapes how a child reasons, not just what they say on stage
Speak Braver
The confidence to speak up, hold a position and be heard
Decide Wiser
Knowing what to say, when to say it and why it matters
Lead Wider
Using that voice to lead a classroom, a team and one day a field
Certified, and chosen with care
Every MSDA coach is trained in these four areas before they teach a class.
